Can I Carry at the Pool?

A trip to the beach or pool doesn't mean that you have to go unarmed. Often, we as mothers take our children to the lakeside, beach, pool or local splash pad and are on our own in a place where it is very possible someone could choose to prey on a woman alone or a child. I choose not to go unarmed. Og course, I don't swim with my firearm, I will cover putting the gun away after I show pictures. 

In all of today's pictures, out model is wearing a tankini and a floral sarong. Depending on the cut of your suit, you may also opt to choose the Flashbang, The Marilyn, or the Betty from Looper Law Enforcement. My model chose not to wear a bikini today, so I can't show those for you, but perhaps I can shoot some pictures with someone else in the near future and share those with you. They are all great choices for concealing...in a swimsuit or out. 

Now on to the pictures:

This first one shows the crossbreed on the hip at a little bit of a forward cant.

And then we have the thigh holster from Remora. One of my favorites for wearing to our local lake.

And this is the Pocket/IWB Remora. My model also enjoys wearing this without the sarong and with shorts or a jacket style cover-up.

And of course we cant forget the back up plan, our trusty Ka-Bar TDI. Not necessarily concealed, but also easy to wear with a swimsuit for added protection.

So, if I am going to the local pool and want to carry concealed, but I decide to get in the water, what can I do? You have several options. The first being the keyed or padlocked locker. If the pool has lockers available, you can step into the restroom stall, disarm and wrap holster and all in an extra towel in your bag. Place the entire bag or just the wrapped up weapon (folded neatly so it simply looks like an extra towel) into the locker and double check that it is locked. Take the same steps in reverse to re-arm after drying off. 

You may also opt to run to your vehicle and place the firearm safely into a safe or other secure locked compartment (a safe, bolted to the inside of the locked trunk is a great choice when leaving a firearm in the vehicle). 

MOST IMPORTANT: DO NOT leave your firearm in your bag unattended pool side. A child could easily get into your bag, your bag could be stolen, it could be knocked into the water...the possibilities are endless. Firearm safety is ALWAYS the key, no matter what we do!

Also, don't forget to watch for 30.06 and other legal signage while carrying. Let's try not to fuel the anti's arguments against us.

So get out of this crazy Texas heat and get wet!!
